JOB FUNCTION:

 

Coordinate child care recruitment, retention and improvement projects in designated service area, provide coaching and consultation to child care programs, and to build and culture relationships that form alliances for quality child care programming

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1)    Implement recruitment activities

 

a)    Provide information and technical assistance to those interested in starting and /or expanding a child care program including follow-up mailings, e-mail communication, phone calls and visits

b)    Maintain contact with potential providers

c)    Conduct group orientation for potential providers in conjunction with county licensers, where applicable, and communicate regularly with licensors about start up activity

d)    Publicize and provide technical assistance and support to new and existing child caregivers

 

2)    Support and retain existing providers

 

a)    Visit providers, at their location, to provide information on support services available, to answer questions, to encourage quality child care practices and to link coaching/consultation to training

b)    Clarify roles and responsibilities of child care provider(s) and CCR&R staff

c)    Coordinate coaching and consultation to include best practices

d)    Encourage and support providers to attain professional development opportunities

e)    Link providers with community resources to better meet family needs

f)     If applicable, coordinate and conduct observations and assessments of enrolled programs

 

 

 

 

3)    Administrative Support

 

a)    Manage spending of grant funds and track expenses as they occur in designated computer program

b)    Document program improvement through use of photos, narratives and other methods

c)    Maintain current information on licensing

d)    Track interactions in designated formats

e)    Develop resources as needed

 

4)    Community Relations

 

a)    Develop/maintain relationships with county social services

b)    Maintain and develop productive relationships with community partners and identify opportunities for other CCR&R staff to be involved

c)    Develop relationships with culturally-based community organizations and newcomer communities to ensure CCR&R services are culturally responsive and accessible

d)    Participate on various committees, boards, or community groups as appropriate

e)    Enhance partnerships by serving as a liaison to professional early childhood associations/groups in the designated geographic area

 

5)    Agency and Division Support

 

a)    Assist your CCR&R Director with the planning and implementation of new opportunities to expand and strengthen CCR&R programming

b)    Track financial expenses and other data associated with your program as requested

c)    Represent Agency in the communities we serve

d)    Compile and submit required reports and data to CCR&R Director

e)    Assist with other CCR&R projects as requested by CCR&R Director

f)     Attend and participate in agency, community and state meetings important to effective Agency operations 

g)    Seek out additional training to enhance personal development

h)   Promote and enhance the integration of the full array of Agency services

i)     Assist with the orientation/ training of new staff

j)      Participate effectively with other private and public community organizations and state agencies to promote and support partnerships for the achievement of Lakes and Prairie’s goals

k)    Participate in Agency efforts to assess the external and internal environments to ensure the provision of quality programming which meet identified community needs

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education or related field or specialized training (such as CDA) plus applicable experience.

·         Practical experience working directly with young children in an early childhood setting

·         Must hold a valid driver’s license, current insurance coverage if using own vehicle, and be able to arrange own transportation to meet with clients and conduct business within the service delivery area
