Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership believes that everyone has a right to a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. Family and Community Services staff work to match individuals and families with available program funds, donated resources, and provide referral assistance to maintain or achieve housing security.
Families, at times are in need of special assistance to maintain housing. Situations that can lead to utility shut-off, eviction and homelessness threaten family security.
Family and Community Services staff members are on the front lines of helping those who are falling through the cracks of our system. Our first focus is on helping families address their immediate crisis situation by providing assistance for shelter, rent, mortgage payments, security deposits, or utilities.
A Self Sufficiency Advocate then works with families to develop a plan that works to build long-term stability, connecting them with other resources – both Lakes & Prairies and community resources.
