Title: Directions Coordinators
Volunteer Dates: During the month of June
Time Required: 6 to 10 hours preparing maps/directions to worksites.
The volunteers that are a part of the Northern Lights Group Workcamp are coming from around the nation and are unfamiliar with the local area. In order for them to help those in need, they need to first reach them. Driving directions are needed to each worksite from the lodging facility (Barnesville High School) so that they can be easily located.
Title: Delivery Personnel
Volunteer Dates: Week prior to Group Workcamp
Time Required: varies
Help is needed to transport materials and supplies to worksites. Volunteers should have some general knowledge about building materials and be able to physically move supplies. Individuals with trucks are encouraged to volunteer for this position. Volunteer now

Title: Ladder Organizer
Volunteer Dates: Week Prior through the conclusion of Group Workcamp

Ladder organizers will help to coordinate supplies by helping ensure that participants have the ladders needed to complete their work. All ladders are on loan from local community members and need to be tracked and monitored though out the Workcamp. Trucks will be needed to help deliver large items, including ladders, to worksites. Title: Project Advisors
Volunteer Dates: Week of Group Workcamp
Time Required: approximately 8 hours per day, Monday thru Friday
Advisors will oversee the work being done at the sites. Are not to do the work for the participants, but are to travel to a variety of worksites to answer questions and provide advice/guidance on how to best complete the needed repairs. Volunteer now
Title: Opening Day Hospitality
Volunteer Dates: July 22nd

Those involved with Opening Day Hospitality will be responsible for meeting the workcampers as they arrive on Sunday, July 22. Volunteers are needed to welcome the travelers with smiling face, carry luggage, and help coordinate activities. Volunteer now

Title: Kitchen Staff
Volunteer Dates: Week of Group Workcamp

Volunteers are needed to work in helping provide warm meals to the traveling workcampers. Barnesville Area Schools will be the base camp and the cafeteria will need to be open from 5 am to 8 pm each day in order to provide 3 meals a day. Volunteer now

Title: Community Coordinators and Assistants
Volunteer Dates: Now through the end of the Workcamp
Time Required: Occasional with more help as the project gets closer
Individuals or teams are needed to help coordinate volunteer efforts during and around the time of the Group Workcamp. Coordinators and teams provide the link between project volunteers, Lakes & Prairies Community Action, and the local community. Examples of tasks may include coordinating volunteer efforts such as delivery, photography, and hospitality, recording volunteer time of others who help, as well as assisting project advisors and coordinating the loaned ladder program. Communications will be a key part of the coordinators role.
Community Coordinators and Assistants are needed for each of the following communities: Barnesville, Breckenridge, Dilworth, Glyndon, Hawley, Moorhead and surrounding communities. Below are many of the types of volunteer opportunities that go on in each community. Volunteer now
Title: Pre-Workcamp Set-up Staff
Volunteer Dates: Week prior to Group Workcamp
Time Required: varies
Set-up volunteers will assist with taking inventory of materials and supplies. Set-up volunteers will be needed throughout the day during the week prior to Workcamp. Hours needed may not be “9-5” so flexible schedules are available. Volunteer now
Paperwork and more.... Volunteers are needed to begin record keeping related to the project, volunteers, and special events. Other work includes helping with printing program, mailings, making telephone calls, and contacting potential volunteers and community partners. Some work can be done at home though most needs to be done at Lakes & Prairies Community Action offices at 715 11th St. Suite 402, Moorhead, MN Volunteers are needed who can handle general clerical work and those who are good at word processing and using excel. Title: Opening Day Welcoming Planners and Helpers
Volunteer Dates: Planning prior to and assisting at the Sunday, July 22nd welcoming of the Group Workcamp youth volunteers.... The event will include a meal and a short program. Volunteer now
Title: End of Project Celebration (includes partners, campers, those whose homees have been repaired, and guests such as mayors, church leaders, etc.)

Those involved will assist in the planning and/or set-up, preparing/serving meals, providing deserts, and related tasks as the program celebrates a week of caring. Volunteer now
Title: Photography and Filming

Still picture and video photographers are needed to capture the project and its activities in all of the communities. Volunteers are needed to take pictures the week prior to Group Workcamp, taking pictures in each of the communities where homes are being repaired, and at evening events. Volunteer now
Title: Project Helpers
Volunteer Dates: Any day during the project week (June 23-27)
Time Required: 4 Hour or all day shifts any day(s) Monday thru Friday
There are people whose applications are on a waiting list because there are more projects than can be done by the youth coming from the Group Workcamps Foundation. You can join with other volunteers on painting, minor repair and other projects so that we can do more homes. Also, on some of the larger projects you may be asked to help the one or two crews already assigned. Volunteer now
