New Construction
Helping to address the affordable housing needs of families and individuals with low-income is one of the primary focuses of the Housing/Self-Sufficiency programs at Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership. Our new construction home projects are planned and designed to be as affordable as possible. A primary savings on construction has come about in recent years through development of strong partnerships. During the 2004-2005 school year, homes are being built by:
The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (DGF)
High School Technical Education Class.
The Hawley High School Carpentry Class.
The Minnesota Sate Community and Technical College Carpentry Students Program - Moorhead.
Numerous options may be available for first time home buyers and others in addition to other assistance to make home buying possible.
Eligible buyers must have income below 80% of the area median income for Clay County. Applications for these homes are available on this web site and will be kept on file with Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership. Applications for the houses will be prioritized according to guidelines adopted by the Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership Board of Directors.
For more information you can contact Dale Rollie, Housing/Self-Sufficiency Director, or fill out and mail in the application on this site.

Of the homes built and sold in 2005, the Moorhead house was built on-site on 5th Avenue N. The home built by DGF (Dilworth, Glyndon, Felton School) sold and was moved to Barnesville. The Hawley home was built on-site in Hawley’s Prairie View Estates. In 2006, the DGF home is already sold and will again go to Barnesville. The Moorhead home is in South Moorhead.
